In its small package, big power comes from an Intel Core i5-540M vPro 2.53 GHz CPU (blazingly fast for a sub-3 pound computer). With up to 4GB RAM (8GB on the Premium models), 12.1" widescreen display, and improved Intel QM57 Express Chipset, the S9 supports intense graphics, along with easier things like streaming videos, spreadsheets, and even the most ADD-driven multitasking.
(A slightly technical paragraph for interested parties: based on Intel’s Nehalem microarchitcture, the new high-end dual-core CPU boasts several advantages over the previous Core 2 Duo series of processors. Capable of HyperThreading, the 2-core processor can handle four threads simultaneously, leading to more efficient multitasking and a smoother experience, while avoiding the higher power requirements of four discrete cores. Additional performance and power management is provided by Intel’s TurboBoost and Enhanced Speedstep technologies – dynamically scaling the clock speed (and thus power usage) up and back (from 2.53 GHz to 3.06 GHz) as needed helps give you the performance you need, when you need it, while conserving battery life when your system is idling – an ideal compromise for the mobile professional. Additionally, the integrated Intel GMA HD provides great video performance without the extra power drain of a discrete graphics card.)
In addition to its incredible performance, the S9 has a surreal 14-hour battery life (10 hours under typical usage).
Additional features include the custom-designed DVD superdrive, PC Card Slot, HDMI Out with full HD support for an external monitor, 3 USB ports--with one wisely separated so you can keep that oversized USB broadband data card on one side without interrupting the other ports.
The S-series comes with the same exceptional durability that people have come to know from Panasonic: up to 100kg (220lbs) pressure resistant casing, a 76cm (30 inches) drop rating, and a drip-proof keyboard ensure that any road warrior can rest easy knowing their laptop will shrug off little abuse. Dynamism 3 year Special Warranty
In addition to the 3 year manufacturer warranty, the Dynamism 3 year Special Warranty includes 3 years of accidental damage coverage on the Panasonic computer product only.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If the repair is due to user damage, the warranty is not part of the Dynamism Rescue Warranty and the customer is responsible for all freight charges. Panasonic is the final arbiter of all disputes and will charge for all repairs if they deem that any event that voided the warranty had occurred.
What is covered:
*Up to 3 years manufacturer's warranty including user damage
*Up to 3 years Dynamism FedEx rescue service (for non-user damage warranty repairs only). Customer is responsible for freight charges if the repair is due to user damage.
Limitations:
The Special Warranty will end prior to the expiration date when we have, as a result of service provided to you, replaced your product or incurred costs under this plan and all other coverage equal to the original purchase price of your product (as indicated on your invoice) and on the percentage of coverage by year:
1st year: 100%
2nd year: 70%
3rd year: 50%
What is not covered:
The Special Warranty only covers operational or mechanical failure from handling and does not include protection against normal wear and tear, theft, fire, flood, wind, freezing, power failure, misplacement, viruses, reckless, abusive, willful or intentional conduct associated with handling and use of the product, operator negligence, cosmetic damage and/or other damage that does not affect the unit functionality, inadequate power supply, unusual atmospheric conditions, or acts of war or acts of God. Dynamism FedEx rescue service is for non-user damage warranty repairs only.
